"I Will" by The Beatles - the first song I can remember my late father crooning to me as a child, plucking softly at his Gibson J-50 as I slowly dozed off into the kind of deep slumber only young children can achieve. This is one of the fondest memories I keep close to me of my father. His musical influence is one of the main reasons I decided to pursue a career in the music industry. Throughout my father's sickness, he kept his spirits high by passing the time plucking away at that same guitar. Watching him play and seeing how happy this small wooden instrument made him gave me a deep appreciation for music’s ability to move and affect people in critical ways. I knew then that I had to find a way to be involved in this transformative industry. Through conversations with my father, my rigorous coursework at The University of Texas at Austin and internships at the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM), Glassnote Records, Margin Walker Presents, and South by Southwest (SXSW), and my recent work experience at Glassnote Records and Butter Music + Sound, I have cultivated a broad knowledge and intense fascination for the music industry.
